Madison Thompson

Madison Thompson began her journey with Behind the Badge Foundation in 2019 after the tragic loss of her father, Deputy Ryan Shane Thompson of Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, who was killed in the line of duty. She initially volunteered, offering support during memorials and events, which eventually led to her being invited as a summer intern in 2022. Her dedication and drive quickly made her an invaluable team member, and she became a permanent part-time employee.

Madison’s contributions include streamlining processes and creating databases that enhance organizational efficiency, ensuring that the Foundation can better serve law enforcement families and survivors. Madison brings a unique perspective as both a young survivor and a child of a line-of-duty death, which deepens her connection to the Foundation’s mission and adds value to her work. Her insights help shape the Foundation’s approach to survivor support and operational improvements.

Outside of her professional commitments, Madison is an avid runner, competing in collegiate level cross-country and track. She is set to graduate from Central Washington University in the spring of 2025, formalizing her academic achievements.
