On Wednesday, December 22, 1982, Officer John Rolcik of the Cle Elum Police Department passed away from complications that arose after undergoing surgery for a broken hip.
Officer Rolcik broke his hip when he fell while handling an animal complaint. Ashe climbed the steps to a home, he slipped on ice and fell. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center where doctors waited for some swelling to go down before performing surgery. Numerous complications following his surgery contributed to his death.
Officer Rolcik is survived by his family.
