On Saturday, February 5, 1966, Marysville Police Officer William Arndt responded to the report of a troubled youth, armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, inside a house.

The suspect, Daniel Patton Kramer, was convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison.  He only served three years.  As recently as 2006, he was arrested after police found marijuana, large amounts of cash and explosives inside his Mount Vernon area home.  After spending six months in county jail awaiting trial, he was released and sentenced to time served and DOC supervision.
