Peer Support Tools for Families
Extending peer support to our families is recognized as the essential next step in comprehensive CISM programs. The extraordinary impact of critical incident stress and secondary traumatic stress is often devastating to the integrity of our families. How do we prepare our loved ones, our families, our children? What are the skills for both a proactive and a reactive response? Developing and maintaining either an agency sponsored or a standalone program will be discussed. Our facilitator, with over 30 years’ experience in developing LE family programs, will provide an overview of the specific criteria, training and maintenance needed for a Family CISM component.
Facilitator:
Thérése A. Cobb, MSW, BCETS – Pacific NW Trauma/ICISF
